Home to some of the oldest Zinfandel vineyards in the entire state, it’s a Wonder why Lodi isn’t better recognized as the source for some of the most prodigious, deep and rich Zinfandel wines in all of California. With Wonder, the goal is to shine a spotlight on this underrated region, and after working for years on establishing incredible vineyard sources, our efforts have finally paid off.

Wonder is a remarkably polished, even elegant expression of a region where the region’s hot climate and arid vineyards belie their ability to produce sophisticated and balanced Zinfandel wines. Wonder is equal parts fruity and savory on the palate, with a complex interplay of raspberry, red currant, mint, and chalk flavors.

In the sweltering vineyards of Lodi, wine is a beverage necessary for the daily drudgery of life working in the fields, where the region’s robust reds help provide the sustenance and energy needed to continue with the day’s farming activities. Zinfandel is the signature variety, and, like the residents of Lodi themselves, is an honest, hardy example of a regional specialty perfectly adapted to a challenging environment without frills or fuss.
Wonder Zinfandel vines are well adapted to the intense sunlight and arid conditions, producing grapes with thick skins and an incredibly dark-colored wine. Lodi appeals to our sense of wonder through its willingness to re-think the potential of Zinfandel, a story retold in the deep, sandy soils of the area, so perfect for the cultivation of vines that produce correspondingly complex and extracted wines.
