But, like the dandelion, Colombard is found everywhere, from Cognac to South Africa, Australia, and even the sun-kissed vineyards of California; where it has been cultivated since the dawn of the state’s viticulture industry. Your wish for a classic, fruit-forward, brisk and bright white wine has been answered – California Colombard.

COLOMBARD TIMES
Colombard by nature is a shy variety, but despite its relatively reticent personality, it is a critical component of one of the world’s greatest and most respected beverages – Cognac – where Colombard often is the major component of the base wine. As the Colombard diaspora has taken it to the four corners of the wine world, it has remained in the background, mostly used as a blending grape. Winemakers, however, have always known of its potential to produce breathtaking wines on its own, and in this sense Colombard has been patiently waiting in the wings for its turn to shine.
As the tide turns and the world’s wine consumers are turning their attention to new varieties, new expressions, new flavor profiles, Colombard is finally getting its due. As their customers are becoming increasingly open to previously-unheard of grapes, winemakers are finally getting their chance to show the world what they’ve known for so long – that Colombard is fully capable of magical things all by itself in a bottle. Wish On A Dandelion is proud to show you what Colombard can do, and now is it’s time to shine.
